Interior designer Jason Bonham returned to NZ in 2008 after spending 10 years designing interiors for exclusive clients in San Francisco, London and New York.
Originally from Auckland’s North Shore, Jason moved to California at age
21, and landed an internship with a leading interior design firm based in
San Francisco. It was a labour of love, as Jason could not work legally in
the United States, but he used the time to learn his craft and complete a
BA in Interior Design.
Jason then moved to London where he worked for a design and build
firm in the upmarket suburb of Chelsea, designing kitchens, bedrooms
and bathrooms for well-heeled clients including the Sultan of Brunei.
From there he transferred to the New York office until 9/11 where he
decided to return home after 10 years away.
Upon arrival in NZ, Jason returned to consulting for a leading architectural
firm, where he created and developed a CPD program for the NZIA.
During this time Jason also landed a role presenting and designing for a
television show called Trading Houses.
Drawing his inspiration from the natural textures and fibres that New
Zealand is known for, being home has allowed Jason to return to his
riparian roots and assisted him in developing another facet to his unique
design style.
Deciding to go out on his own, Jason started Bonham Interior Ltd,
where he is the sole director of the practice. His key emphasis is on the
importance of listening to clients needs and delivering the best possible
solution.
For Jason, Bonham Interior means a commitment to listen and deliver a
solution that has an enduring quality over time.
